Who We Are

A global alliance advancing metabolic health through science, policy, and collective action.

What is GMHA?

The Global Metabolic Health Alliance (GMHA)

The Global Metabolic Health Alliance (GMHA) is a collaborative global platform advancing integrated, population-level action on metabolic health.

GMHA brings together leaders in metabolic science, medicine, public health policy, and technological innovation to translate scientific evidence into global standards, country-adapted implementation, and scalable solutions that strengthen health systems and improve outcomes at scale.

Recognising that the central challenge is not a lack of knowledge, but the absence of integrated, practical, and measurable pathways within real-world health systems, GMHA focuses on implementation across the full metabolic disease continuum—from prevention and early detection to comprehensive care. This work is advanced through collaboration with governments, health systems, professional societies, and innovators.

Why a Global Alliance Matters

Unlike traditional organizations working in isolation, GMHA functions as a global alliance—connecting expertise, leadership, and action across regions.

GMHA is:

  • Science-anchored: Grounded in global clinical and public health evidence

  • Implementation-focused: Designed for real-world health systems

  • Country-responsive: Adaptable to national priorities and contexts

  • Equity-driven: Committed to addressing disparities across regions

  • Collaborative: Built on shared leadership and collective action

Our work recognizes that metabolic health challenges are complex—and require integrated, system-wide solutions.

Connecting Global Standards to Local Action

GMHA plays a unique role at the intersection of:

  • Scientific consensus

  • Health policy development

  • National implementation

  • Capacity building and leadership

We develop global standards and guidance, while supporting countries to implement them through national convenors, professional collectives, and aligned health systems.

Our approach ensures that knowledge does not remain theoretical—but becomes actionable, measurable, and sustainable.
